Design Envy: Burger King Icon

Simple & Sublime.

Not a hot take here, this beautiful piece of design goodness has been thoroughly discussed on the interwebs for quite some time. But goddamn, this Burger King icon one of those things that as a designer I immediately saw, was jealous I didn’t create, and reminded me of how powerful design can be.

Every brand identity at this junction in time needs ultimate flexibility when it comes to appearing in the digital world and this reduction of the primary Burger King branding down into an icon is purely simple and sublime.

Designed in conjunction with the newest Burger Kind identity refresh, the rest of the identity is beautifully crafted as well, this thing is beautifully simplistic, true to the brand’s assets, and incredibly intelligent. Doesn’t surprise me in the least this comes from an agency like JKR. One of my absolute favorite branding agencies.

Not only is their work almost always perfectly crafted but they also always seem to deliver thoughtful design solutions that strip away the superfluous visual tricks in favor of communicating the brand is the most distinctive and intuitive way.

Ugh. I wish I did that.
